Police Officer

Essential Functions:

• Perform general police duties including patrol, traffic enforcement, and responding to calls for service
• Protect life and property, prevent crime, and maintain public order
• Prepare written reports, issue citations, and provide courtroom testimony
• Engage in community policing efforts and promote positive public relations
• Work independently and professionally with minimal supervision

Requirements:

• Must be a New York State Certified Police Officer and meet all requirements under Section 58 of NYS Civil
Service Law
• Current certification through DCJS as a police officer
• Must possess a valid New York State driver’s license
• Must have a high school diploma or GED (higher education preferred)
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be of good moral character and able to pass a thorough background investigation
