Police Officer
Salary: $32.78 – $46.00 per hour.
Essential Functions:
- Conducts criminal investigations and apprehends criminals.
- Regulates traffic and enforces traffic laws.
- Conducts preventive patrol.
- Conducts or assists with investigations and/or responds to criminal and civil complaints.
- Makes arrests as required by law; processes prisoners.
- Makes required reports and takes affidavits; maintains logs and ledgers.
- Receives, assists and transmits emergency calls by radio or telephone.
- Operates law enforcement equipment and instruments. Maintains required licenses and certificates, including a valid Ohio driver’s license, Ohio Peace Officer Training Certificate, firearms proficiency, the ability to be bonded, and physical fitness.
- The work schedule will include rotating shifts, including weekends/evenings/holidays.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in law enforcement and/or a closely related field, or equivalent.
- Successful completion of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Program.
- Possession of a valid Ohio driver’s license.
- Must meet physical qualifications for admittance to an approved OPOTA-certified training academy.
- Ohio Peace Officer Training Certificate.
- Must meet the requirements to be bonded.
- LEADS Certification.
