Job Description
Newly hired police officer will perform basic law enforcement duties that include responding to calls for service, assisting citizens, and performing assigned tasks as directed by supervisory personnel.

PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE
Candidates must be MCOLES certified or certifiable in Michigan as a police officer at the time of a conditional job offer.

EDUCATION:
Associate degree required; lateral certified Police Officers required to have obtained 60 credit hours of college credit at time of hire

SPECIAL SKILLS & TRAINING
Valid Michigan driver’s license with no more than two hazardous violations in five years and no more than four current points from date of application. Driving record, criminal history and prior police contacts will also be considered. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and a Michigan resident. Applicants must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with current law enforcement technologies including Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN), Secretary of State (SOS), and all Court Law Enforcement Management Information System (CLEMIS) software/hardware.
