Police Officer 1
Train and serve as a Police Officer qualified to carry firearms; patrol the campus community, testify in court proceedings, maintain accurate records; operate and maintain law enforcement equipment; enforce university, state and local laws; investigate suspected criminal incidents and respond to emergency situations. Graduate and receive P.O.S.T. certification from a Basic Police Academy in the State of Tennessee. Successfully complete all Field Training Program requirements as indicated by Daily Observation Reports and review by the Training Sergeant.
Salary: $36,000 – $41,228; commensurate with experience
High School diploma or High School Equivalency (HSE) required.
Required Related Experience
US citizen, 18 years of age minimum, valid drivers license. Honorable discharge if military experience; must pass a psychological and physical examination administered by a licensed physician at the department’s expense.
Tennessee P.O.S.T. certifiable candidate.
Desirable Related Experience
Two (2) years of discipline free law enforcement related experience and training preferred.
Tennessee P.O.S.T. Certification preferred; National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification preferred.
