Under limited supervision, this position performs a variety of law enforcement functions, such as routine patrol, criminal investigations (both initial and ongoing) involving state and local laws and ordinances, and traffic enforcement. The protection of life and property can result with the enforcement of laws and ordinances. Special assignments may be received which call upon specialized abilities and knowledge usually acquired through experience, training, or education.

Associate degree or equivalent training at a technical or vocational school with a focus on Law Enforcement; possess a valid Peace Officer License issued by the Minnesota Police Officers Standards and Training Board (P.O.S.T.), or be licensable by the MN POST Board. Possess knowledge of First Aid and CPR; possess a valid MN Driver’s License. Lateral transfers are encouraged to apply and may start at a higher pay step and with vacation.
