Lateral Police Officers
The City of Madras Police Department is accepting applications for Lateral Police Officers. This recruitment will also be used to determine an eligibility list which will be maintained at the discretion of the HR department. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to read and write the English language, have a valid driver’s license and ability to meet the City’s driving standards, have no disqualifying criminal history or felony convictions, be able to pass a thorough background investigation/medical and psychological exam and drug screening.
Final evaluation of eligibility will be at the discretion of the Director of Police Services based on background and experience.
This Application Is for Individuals Who:
- Currently possess a Basic Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training “DPSST” certification OR other equivalent local, state or federal certification as a Police Officer or Sheriff’s Deputy;
- Have successfully completed a Field Training Program;
- Have at least one year of full-time equivalent work experience as a certified law enforcement professional.
