Entry Level/Certified Police Officer

Salary: $59,280 to $79,227

Position Summary:

The Montague Police Department, now led by new Chief Jason Haskins, formerly of Greenfield Police Department, is made up of 18 full-time officers, including a Lieutenant, Staff Sergeant, four Sergeants, three detectives, and two School Resource Officers—one partnered with comfort dog K-9 Mac—as well as patrol K-9 Larry.

The Town of Montague, located in Franklin County, is the second-largest town after Greenfield and is composed of five distinct villages: Turners Falls, the largest and most populated, along with Montague Center, Lake Pleasant, Montague City, and Millers Falls. The town borders the Connecticut River and the Town of Greenfield.

Requirements:

• Be a United States citizen
• Be at least 21 years of age at the time of appointment
• Must have and maintain a valid Massachusetts driver’s license
• Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have or be able to obtain a Massachusetts License to Carry Firearms, “LTC”
