E911 Operator
Salary: $50,696.60 – $60,780.70 annually
Position Summary:
Serves as a professional E911 Operator with the Lake County Emergency Communication Center. Under general supervision of the dispatch E911 Supervisor and Lake County 911 Authority Board, works directly with the public, law enforcement, fire department, ambulance service and numerous other public safety agencies providing a communications link for both emergent and non-emergent responses to incidents. An E911 Operator may be required to work within the communications center in a solo capacity. Mandatory overtime may be required.
Essential Functions:
- Field 911 emergency calls and dispatch to emergency response personnel (Law, Fire, Medical, etc.)
- Complete informational checks on individuals as requested by first responders via CCIC/NCIC
- Monitor video surveillance within the courthouse.
- Answer general questions from the public via non-emergency lines.
- Enter, and clear warrants from law enforcement personnel, courts, and justices.
Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean criminal & driving record (no felonies)
- Able to obtain a Colorado Bureau of Investigation OSN License
- Able to obtain notary public certification
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, CAD and other basic computer-based software
- Effective and accurate multi-task abilities
- Pass all required examinations within the testing process continuous and random drug testing.
- Ability to see with or without corrective lenses, well enough to read letters and reports.
- Ability to hear with or without hearing aids, and to speak well enough to converse on phone or two-way radio and be understood in a clear and concise manner.
- Enough mobility to climb, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, twist, reach and lift up to 20 LBS.
- Enough manual dexterity to write type and perform other office duties.
- Able to sit for extended periods of time.
- Able to perform, without additional assistance, all physical movements required for immediate emergency service dispatching including operating telephones, radios, paging devices and multiple computer terminals.
- Able to withstand extended hours and operational periods in case of emergencies such as, but not limited to, wildfires, avalanche, search & rescue, active shooter, etc.)
