Detention Officer

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision, is responsible for performing intake services, custody services, and helping to plan, implement, and evaluate programming on his/her respective shift.

Requirements:

• You must have obtained a minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited college, university or community college, preferably with major course work in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, social work, or related social sciences or a high school diploma with at least two years prior employment in law enforcement or experience in a residential care, specialized care, or detention facility.
• Applicants must be 21 years of age. Applicants must be on the Administrative Office of Illinois Courts hiring eligibility list at the time of employment offer. Must be a U.S. Citizen and have a valid driver’s license.
• Must pass a criminal and DCFS background check as well as a drug screening.
• YOU MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO WORK ON ANY SHIFT.
