Deputy Probation Officer I/II (Lateral Transfer)
Salary: $70,179.20 – $99,507.20 Annually
Position Summary:
The County of San Luis Obispo Probation Department is seeking experienced, self-motivated, dedicated Probation Officers to laterally transfer from another California agency. Please see below to determine if you meet the requirements to be considered for a lateral transfer.
A Deputy Probation Officer is responsible for providing professional services to adult and youth offenders involving the referral, supervision, counseling and rehabilitation of youths and adults on probation.
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree (Job-related experience may be substituted for the required education).
- Deputy Probation Officer I: No additional experience.
- Deputy Probation Officer II: Eighteen months of experience involving the referral, supervision, counseling or rehabilitation of youths or adults.
- A valid driver’s license is required at the time of application. A valid CALIFORNIA driver’s license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.
