These positions pay $26.13 – $40.36/hr, depending on experience. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Incumbents in this class may be performing duties in more than one area as identified below:
Patrol, Investigations, Court Security: enforces federal, state, and local laws and performs arrests for criminal activities; serves criminal and civil warrants and other civil process papers as required by federal, state, and local statutes.
Corrections: performs a variety of duties related to the security, safety, order, operation, and maintenance of the county correctional facility including the admittance, safe detention, housing, monitoring, and release of inmates. Responds to questions, complaints, and requests for assistance from the public and inmates.
Prepares various reports, records, logs, memos, and other records which are both intra- and interdepartmental in nature.
Performs CPR and administers first aid when necessary.
In addition: Deputy Sheriff II/III (LEO or BCO) assists in training new personnel; acts as a team leader as required; fills in for Sergeant or Corporal as assigned. This position has no direct supervisory responsibility but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the office.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR DEPUTY

- At least 21 years old for LEO(Law Enforcement Officer)
- At least 19 years old for SFO(Special Functions Officer) and/or BCO(Basic Correctional Officer.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be either a United States citizen; or a lawful resident of the United States who has been in the United States legally for at least five years; and has legal authorization to work in the United States.
