Deputy Juvenile Officer II
Salary: $24.97 To $25.98 Hourly
Position Summary:
The Clay County Juvenile Court Services has an opening for a professional working in the enforcement and administration of the Missouri Juvenile System. This position is vested with the statutory authority of a Juvenile Officer to take charge of children who come under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile or Family Court and is expected to exercise supervision over juveniles under the Court’s jurisdiction, working with some degree of independence.
Essential Functions:
- Respond to on-call or daily referrals
- Handle crisis interventions
- Assist law enforcement agencies in the investigation of juvenile cases
- Prepare all required legal documentation including petitions, motions, social investigations, court summaries and other reports to Court hearings
- Present cases, as required, to the Juvenile Court and makes recommendations
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, a valid driver’s license and liability insurance, and the ability to attend training with overnight stays and make out of county trips as needed.
- The candidate will also need to be team player who can adapt quickly and manage time effectively.
