Crime Intelligence Analyst I
The City of Aurora is accepting applications for the position of Crime Intelligence Analyst in the Police Department.
Under the direction of the Police Commander or designee, the Crime Intelligence Analyst performs work extracting, collecting, collating, and analyzing open source, incident, intelligence and traffic data; uses crime data, intelligence and knowledge of police programs/patrol activities to identify opportunities for proactive policing efforts and effective resource allocation; and collects, compiles, analyzes and interprets real-time data from police reports, other law enforcement and non-law enforcement resources, including UCR, NIBRS, other agencies, media, crime bulletins and crime reports in order to study and analyze past and existing crime series, patterns and trends. The Crime Intelligence Analyst performs other related work as required.
Starting annual wage is $62,940.80; depending on experience. Excellent benefit package included.

- Requires a bachelor’s degree in Forensics, Criminal Justice or related field with a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in the Crime Data Analysis.
- Requires working knowledge of applicable State and Federal regulations.
- The successful candidate must be able to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism at all times.
- Must be able to pass a polygraph and psychological assessments, interview, and background investigation. Requires a valid driver’s license.
