Oversee the agency’s automated information systems used in the collection, collation, analysis and reporting of information related to criminal activities. Provide crime statistics, crime patterns and trend data, directed patrol data, suspect information, other agency reports and other information as needed. On an on-going basis, assess and evaluate agency’s needs; how to present the data; graphics, layouts and appropriate method for disseminating the information.

Retrieve, validate, edit and update modus operandi data. Summarize narratives from daily crime reports for use in determining crime patterns. Prepare analytical reports and crime maps. Determine what information is pertinent and how to reduce lengthy narratives into short summaries.
Prepare crime trend reports for dissemination to patrol, investigations and other law enforcement agencies. Research and analyze crime statistics to identify patterns and series, forecast trends and recommend allocation of staff resources. Assess and prioritize data. Determine how to best present the data, graphics and layouts.
Prepare monthly crime overview presentation in PowerPoint format for SMART Jeffco.
Prepare and disseminate monthly crime statistics to Criminal Investigations Division Staff for use in their monthly SMART Jeffco presentations.

Use Crystal Reports application to create customized queries and reports out of Tiburon RMS and CAD systems based on agency need and by request.
Prepare graphs, charts (link analysis diagrams, event flow analysis, telephone toll analysis), tables, crime maps and other illustrative devices for visual presentation of data.
Formal Education: Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of three years of work related experience.
• Experience or knowledge in law enforcement preferred.
• Prior working knowledge in Crystal Reports, Tiburon, RMS and CAD systems, Domo and/or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or similar business tools.
Must take and pass a written exam, oral interview, polygraph exam and provide information for background investigation. Must also pass a medical, drug screen and psychological test.
