Certified Police Officer
Salary: $39,600.00-$59,400.00
Essential Functions:
- Patrol a designated area of the airport to preserve law and order, discover and prevent the commission of
crimes, and enforce traffic and other laws and ordinances. - Perform security checks and inspect vehicles, buildings, facilities, grounds, and other areas, including gates
and fencing, to prevent trespass and ensure airport security. - Make arrests as necessary; prepare reports on arrests made, activities performed, and unusual incidents
observed. - Issue airport rules violation citations as necessary and maintain records related to citations.
- Maintain contact with citizens regarding potential law enforcement problems; preserve good relationships with the public and airport tenants.
- Monitor airport terminal activity on closed circuit television cameras and operate communications
- equipment.
- Contact and cooperate with other law enforcement agencies in matters relating to law enforcement and
security activities.
Requirements:
- Shine at communicating effectively and resolving conflicts while demonstrating high ethical standards.
- Displayed strong attention to detail and knowledge of TSA and FAA Security Regulations.
- Excel in the enforcement of laws and the prevention of crimes to ensure the safety and security of the airport.
- Possess one year of experience as a certified law enforcement officer and a high school diploma or GED; any
specialized training in bomb and terrorist threats, K-9 handling, active shooter, and medical emergencies. - Certification issued by the Mississippi Board of Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Training.
- Have a valid Mississippi driver’s license and the ability to receive authorization to drive in secured areas
