Certified/Lateral Police Officer

Salary: $39.69 – $56.64 per hour.

Position Summary:

Perform a variety of duties in the enforcement of laws and the prevention of crimes; control traffic flow and enforce State and local traffic regulations; participate in and conduct a variety of criminal investigations; provide support and assistance to special crime prevention programs; perform evidence identification and collection; perform a variety of technical and administrative tasks in support of the Police Department.

Essential Functions:

• Patrol assigned areas within City limits
• Respond to radio dispatch calls for service
• Perform preliminary investigations at scenes
• Prepare citations and summonses
• Make arrests and transport individuals
• Appear in court to offer testimony relative to the investigation of incidents
• Prepare a variety of reports and records
• Offer assistance to citizens

Requirements:

• One (1) year of law enforcement experience.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.; supplemented by specialized training in criminal justice, police science, investigations or a related field.
• Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
• Possession of a valid Colorado driver’s license.
• Possession of a valid P.O.S.T. basic certificate.
