Alexandria Lateral Police Officer/Motors Assignment
Salary: $62,733.58 – $112,306.22 Annually

Essential Functions:
- General traffic enforcement
- Radar & laser speed enforcement
- Providing escorts
- Assisting patrol officers
- Performing the regular duties of a police officer
- Coordinating and staffing special events
- Traffic direction and control
- Providing service to the public in a professional manner
- Providing presentations to civic or student groups
- Operating a motorcycle in all types of weather
- Responding to emergencies during non-regularly scheduled hours
- Other duties as assigned by their supervisor
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of work experience involving public contact under varying circumstances or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
- Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the state of their residence
- Must meet the minimum age and medical standards established by the Human Resources Department
- Good character and background are essential requirements
- Must have a valid DCJS Motor Certification
- Must be DCJS certified as a Law Enforcement Officer in Virginia
- Applicants must possess a current Class M motorcycle license.
Preferred Requirements:
- Four-year college Degree or equivalent directly related work experience.
