Police Officer Requirements – Pennsylvania
Minimum Requirements to be a Police Officer in Pennsylvania
- Age Be 18 years of age or older
- Education High School Diploma or G.E.D
- Citizenship US Citizen
Other Requirements
- Free from convictions of disqualifying criminal offenses
- Be able to read at no less than the ninth grade level
- Undergo medical / physical examination
- Undergo psychological examination
- Pass physical fitness standards
- Subject to a thorough background investigation
- Completed the basic police training course at a Commission-certified school
