This recruitment will be used to establish an eligibility list for current and future Cadet Officer vacancies. Cadet Officers participate in the training program of the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy (ALEA) and other training designated by the Department of Public Safety to learn general duty police work.  Performs related duties as assigned.  Upon successful completion of training and certification as a peace officer by ALEA, the incumbent is reclassified to Officer with a current pay range of $44,725 - $62,660.  This is a competitive classification.


Testing Information


Testing will consist of a Written Examination, Physical Fitness Test, and Qualifications Appraisal Board. Testing dates will be announced at a later date.  Candidates must successfully complete each portion of the exam to progress to the next test.  Candidates successfully completing all portions of the testing process will be placed on an 18 month eligibility list which will be used to fill vacancies in future academies.



Must be a U.S. citizen and a high school graduate or have a GED. Must be at least 21 years of age at the completion of ALEA training. By the starting date, must be a resident of the state of Arizona and possess a valid Arizona driver license.
