GENERAL PURPOSE: 

Performs intermediate-level professional work in the Police Department.  Responsible for the department's public information dissemination, crime prevention initiatives, and marketing the department's services. Develops and maintains the Police Department's social media sites, monitors social media for trends on emerging crime, drafts press releases and other materials for publication. Works under general supervision, receives guidance on unusual or complex issues, and exercises considerable initiative and sound judgment in the planning, scheduling, and carrying out of assignments.
 
Hours of work: Monday through Thursday 7:00 A.M.  to 6:00 P.M. with flexibility to work nights, weekends, special events, etc. Days and hours are subject to change.

Hiring Range: $47,632.00 - $59,550.40/annually
Salary Range: $47,632.00 - $73,840.00/annually

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in advertising, communications, marketing, journalism, graphic design, business or closely related field; supplemented by two (2) or more years' experience in public relations, public information, journalism, media production or related field while developing integrated social media communications strategies and content; an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience may be considered. 
 
Experience in a similar position for a Police Department or law enforcement agency is preferred.
